Why go outside?

Fisher-Price are launching the Smart Cycle for children.

  • child switches on television
  • switches on ‘wheel-less bike’ and sits down
  • pedals to play games

I’m feeling very old-fashioned about this and would suggest that the real thing is a viable alternative. But then I don’t have children and don’t live in constant fear of their safety on all sort of fronts. So if it gets them moving perhaps it should be applauded?

There’s a video on Amazon. It seems to have a built-in camera to allow the ‘rider’ to be superimposed on the screen. Quite clever and actually looks like it might be fun. :)

Digital is awesome

Two pieces of work this week have raised the bar in terms of campaign digital work. They are things that blow away the 30 second TV spot.

(1) Get the glass by Northkingdom
I was invited to go fishing with these guys earlier in the year. Stupidly I flew back to london to go to the Interesting unconference.
It’s truly is jaw dropping in terms of production value, but manages to still has a simply but effective interactive component. Clock the sound quality as you good through the site.

(2) Poke’s online interpretation of the Orange Unlimited campaign : Good things should never end
A near perfect execution, and typically of poke, in a cool zeitgeist sort of way. Doing everything you might have thought have, but never got around to doing just now. Stunning.

Spend some time with these sites and think how good you have to be.
