-image-del.icio.us on iPhone
August 6th, 2008 by mcadwalladerIf you have a Windows PC, here’s how to get delicious working on the iphone so that you can tag pages, presumably the process is similar on a MAC. There is a quick tip video on how to do this somewhere but it is out of date and, as I found out, overly simplified. It also involves overuse of the word ‘booya’.
Install safari
Go to http://delicious.com/
Log in
Go to http://delicious.com/help/bookmarklets
Drag the links as instructed under the heading ‘Safari’
To make the bookmarks quickly available and not hidden away in a folder in you iphone bookmarks:
In Safari go to Bookmarks>Show all bookmarks
Drag the delicious links from the bookmarks bar across and under BOOKMARKS on the left
Delete all the default stuff if you don’t want it
Close Safari
Open ITunes
Click on your iPhone and go to the info page
Scroll down to Web Browser and check sync bookmarks with Safari
Sync
Log in to delicious on your iphone
Go to bed as it’s way past your bedtime now

-image-Webby Award winners (No. 1) – America’s favourite architecture
May 9th, 2008 by adminThe webby awards were announced recently, and with almost 70 categories there are plenty of interesting sites that both won awards and were shortlisted. To save you scrolling through a list of about 500 websites, I’d thought I’d post a selection of my favourites on here.
The first is the ‘People’s Voice’ winner in the Associations category – America’s Favourite Architecture. Beautifully designed, and with some stunning high-resolution photography, the site lists America’s favourite 150 pieces of arhitecture. You can sort by name, architect, or ranking – essentially a league table of people’s favourites. By choosing your favourite buildings, you can influence the overall standings. (In case you were wondering, the Empire State building is currently #1).
