Takashi Murakami comes to Brooklyn YO!!

You better hop on that Q train to Brooklyn, Murakami comes to the Brooklyn Museum of Art. Takashi Murakami is often compared to Andy Warhol, he first became famous in the 1990s for a theory he called Superflat. Derived from traditional Japanese painting, it was adopted by the contemporary art world to indicate a mix of high and low art.

Zena Holloway is the UKs leading professional underwater photographer. Working in the sea from a young age with photography and film Zena is completely self-taught (amazing). She has taken underwater photography to entirely new depths.

The Jonathan LeVine Gallery just opened a new exhibit this past weekend featuring new works and installations by: Blek Le Rat, Blue, Bo130, D*Face, Miorobo, and Space Invader.

“Street Art culture has grown from its graffiti roots over the past few decades and has since evolved into a global movement. Often conveying political or social commentary, the intent of many Street Artists is to create an open message to society, introduce unconventional ideas to the general public and engage the masses.”

In Manhattan it’s bizarre if you’re never on sensory overdrive. One is constantly under assault by ads, images, crazy people talking to you on the subway, and tasty halal food. For some time now I’ve seen this guy’s work in lower Manhattan, finally found it he goes by WK, check out his work.
