In support of their sponsorship of the GAA Football All-Ireland Senior Championship, Ulsterbank have created a tidy little game for GAA fanatics to play. I think this would be even better if the application was developed to allow users to play against each other online.
To mark 125 years of the GAA, Tom Humphries of the Irish Times has wrote a piece to celebrate 125 reasons to love the GAA, see this feature by Tom Humphries in today’s Irish Times.
Some of my favourites are below:
38. Two strands of braided wool in your county colours is the very definition of minimalist chic.
64. The mini leagues on a Saturday morning. Hundreds of kids in little helmets, clutching sticks and running around like a startled colony of ants.
85. Paddy’s Day has been saved by the club finals.
100. The Ó Sé brothers.
119.Hang sandwiches and tae. Still the staple of royalty.
Oh, I would like to see this. From next month, legendary department store Selfridges is celebrating its 100th birthday and is marking the occasion by hosting a huge festival at its Oxford Street store.Shoppers will be entertained by a programme of fashion, music, caberet, vogueing workshops and the Selfridgettes, a troupe of beautiful people dressed in yellow.
The store has also collaborated with a variety of designers to create exclusive merchandise in the trademark Selfridges Pantone 109 yellow, including a Giles Deacon dress (with eyes), Chuck Taylors from Converse, a Marc Jacobs bag and a pair of Guiseppe Zanotti heels. The limited edition collection of pieces will be available from 1 May.
When it comes to motion graphics I have never seen anyone as good as these guys, still way ahead of the competition, amazing stuff. Their work for the Guinness Dot campaign and Audi is something else altogether.
